Winners of the Selection of Animated Short Films, Game-Based Animated Films Section, Are Unveiled to Support New Forces in Pursuit of Dreams
New greens are flourishing with spring in the air. The Awards Ceremony of the 14th BJIFF Game-Based Animated Films Section was successfully held on April 21, during which winners of the Selection of Animated Short Films were announced. Active renowned filmmakers, experts and scholars from the animation industry, prestigious jury and casts & crews of the shortlisted entries were gathered in Huairou District to witness the announcement of winners in the Selection of Animated Short Films, marking a grand conclusion to the two-month-long selection.
We were honored to see excellent outcomes of new forces in animation at this marvelous night of cinema and multi-sector integration. It was not only a professional meticulous selection, but also a big gathering of animation dreams and talents.
Awards Ceremony of the Game-Based Animated Films Section
As a newly added important subsection, the Selection of Animated Short Films started the call for entries in early March, collected more than 700 entries through in-depth collaboration with more than 40 well-established colleges and universities nationwide, and shortlisted 60 short films among them. The process unveiled infinite creativity of young creators and various possibilities of a booming animation industry. At last, 5 Outstanding Animated Short Films, 15 Excellent Animated Short Films, and 3 Jury-recommended Animated Short Films were awarded. The announcement acknowledged strenuous efforts by young creators, and highly commended their talents and creativity.

All those winning short films are like dazzling stars in the vast animation industry in China. Young creators sketch imaginative worlds with delicate strokes based on their talents and creativity, and present candid stories and emotions to the audience. They dare to challenge and break through, and offer numerous visual and spiritual feasts to the audience from unique perspective and one-of-their-kind narrative.
Little drops make an ocean. The Selection of Animated Short Films of the 14th BJIFF Game-Based Animated Films Section aims to discover more outstanding young animators, build an artistic, diverse and market-driven platform for exchanges and cooperation, and provide solid support for the creation and artistic presentation of excellent animations. We expect that more creators will make themselves seen and reach out to the audience on the professional and international platform, and open up a new chapter of their career soon with their works, and the next edition will produce remarkable results, and bring more surprises and vitality to the market.
