As a creative medium,short videos play an increasingly important role in cultural dissemination.The BJIFF Short Video Section aims to discover outstanding short video works that are warm-hearted, profound,extensive,and  eye-catching.It  encourages  creators  to nnovate boldly,using new techniques and fresh thinking to capture the beauty of everyday life,showcase the vitality and diversity of life,and allow audiences to appreciate the unique charm of short videos in different styles and themes.This initiative seeks to elevate the industry standards and aesthetic criteria of short videos,enrich their artistic,aesthetic,and social value expressions,and depict the brilliance of civilization and the spirit of the times.

The   activities   of   the    Short   Video    Section   include   jury recommendations,screenings of outstanding works,master workshops,and  a  series  of  forums,among  other  activities.The theme forum focuses on discussing cutting-edge issues in the short video field,aiming to anticipate future development directions and potential trends in the online audio-visual domain,establish industry benchmarks and standards,and provide a high-level platform for exchange and  interaction  among short video  creators,industry experts,scholars,and practitioners.It aims to promote academia and industry to jointly cultivate new productive forces in short video creation and support the high-quality development of the short video industry.

In   2022,the    Beijing   International    Film   Festival   Organizing Committee,in  collaboration with  Communication  Univer  sity  of China,launched the Short Video Section for the first time.This initiative aims to encourage  more  outstanding  creators to join the mainstream international film festival track,transforming from audience members to active creators,recorders of a better life,and storytellers of China.
