The China Cinema Editors Association (CCEA) will once again organize the Magic Editing Forum during the 14th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF). With the theme of “New Editing Force”, the forum focuses on the innovative application of AI in film and television editing, and discusses how the combination of the traditional editing art and new technology will bring about a revolution of film and television making.
It will invite editors of nominees for the 96th Academy Award for Film Editing, and renowned experts and scholars in the field of film editing at home and abroad to have in-depth conversations about secrets of filmmaking, connotations of film aesthetics, and social values of films among other topics. Meanwhile, award-winning and nominated editors at major film festivals held in 2023, and editors of outstanding drama series are going to share pioneering editing techniques and innovative ideas.
Moreover, the Short Film and Short Video Art Committee is to discuss the production of micro- and short drama series, and the “new productivity” empowered by AI-Generated Content (AIGC) in the creation of short films and videos. Specifically, it explores the change of film aesthetics and industry development trend driven by AI, and undertakes the mission of enhancing the aesthetic taste of the public and shaping social and cultural values in the field of Internet audiovisual contents led by the film and television art.
The Magic Edition Forum is ready to embark on a new journey of film revolution against convergence of cutting-edge technology and traditional art. It will analyze the infinite possibilities of film and television editing in the AI era with a forward-looking vision and profound thinking, and explore the sound integration of AIGC and humanism based on the interplay of technology and art, rationality and sensibility, and inheritance and innovation.
