Call for Academic Papers and Monographs for the 15th Beijing International Film Festival's AIGC Unit!
Since 2024, in order to closely align with cutting-edge technological trends, the 14th Beijing International Film Festival took the lead among major global film festivals in establishing the AIGC Unit. This initiative aims to explore the limitless potential of artificial intelligence technology in the digital film and television industry, promoting the deep integration of AIGC technology with cinematic art and has garnered widespread attention from society.
In 2025, the 15th Beijing International Film Festival's AIGC Unit is launching the significant “Academic Paper and Monograph Recommendation” event, openly soliciting outstanding academic papers, monographs, and textbooks from the public. The goal is to gather high-quality research results from both academia and the industry, fostering the vigorous development of digital art and professional education in the AI era.
  
The 15th Beijing International Film Festival AIGC Unit
I. Recommendation Scope
Completion Date
• The submission should be completed after January 1, 2024.
Accepted Forms
• Papers (journal papers should be no less than 3,000 words in principle, and newspaper commentaries or opinion pieces should be no less than 1,500 words);
• Academic monographs or textbooks (no less than 80,000 words in principle).
Publication Status
• Both published and unpublished works are eligible for submission.
Research Content Requirements
• Submissions must be written in Chinese and focus on topics related to generative AI;
• Topics may cover AIGC applications in film and television, animation, digital art, online audiovisual media, entertainment, copyright law, ethical norms, audience engagement, and more;
• Research that demonstrates strong academic rigor, critical thinking, and innovation is highly encouraged.
II. Recommendation Process
1. Establishing a Recommendation Committee•
• The committee will consist of juries from the 15th Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, leaders of relevant competent departments, representatives from academic support institutions, and experts and scholars;
• All review experts must have no conflicts of interest with the submitted works.
2. Review and Voting
• The committee will conduct comprehensive evaluations through centralized discussions and named voting, considering dimensions such as academic value, theoretical innovation, cultural significance, and practical relevance;
• Final recommendations will be ranked based on the number of votes received.
3. Result Announcement
• The list of recommended works, after being reviewed and approved by the Beijing International Film Festival Organizing Committee, will be officially announced through official channels.

III. Submission Process
• This event invites global submissions through the official website of the Beijing International Film Festival and its Media Partners and journals;
• Authors may self-nominate or be recommended by academic institutions or industry organizations;
• Each author, as the first author, may submit one paper and one monograph; It is recommended that the first author handle the actual submission.

(1) Registration form (including author information);
(2) Full text in electronic format (in both Word and PDF formats);
(3) Other required submission materials.
2. Specific Requirements for Other Submission Materials
Papers:
• If already published, please provide scanned copies of the font cover, back cover, and table of contents of the journal (or newspaper), and the full text of the paper (merged into a single PDF);
• If unpublished but accepted for publication in an academic journal (or newspaper), please attach an electronic copy of the acceptance letter (stamped).
Books (academic monographs or textbooks):
• If already published, please provide scanned copies of the book cover, copyright page, and table of contents (merged into a single PDF);
• If unpublished but under a publishing agreement with a publisher, please attach an electronic copy of the intended publication certificate (stamped) from the publisher.

IV. Review Process
1. Preliminary Review
• The secretariat of the Recommendation Committee will conduct a formal review to ensure compliance before advancing to the evaluation stage.
2. Expert Evaluation
• The Recommendation Committee will comprehensively score eligible works and select the final recommended results.
3. Result Announcement
• The list of recommended works will be published on the official channels of the AIGC Unit of the Beijing International Film Festival, subject to public oversight.
V. Benefits for Selected Authors
1. Honor Awards
• Certificates will be awarded to selected authors at the “Honor Gala”” of the AIGC Unit at the 15th Beijing International Film Festival.
2. Media Publicity
• Selected authors will have the opportunity to participate in multi-platform media interviews and academic forums, enhancing their academic influence and social recognition.
VI. Additional Notes
1. Submitters must guarantee the originality and legality of their works. Any copyright or authorship disputes will result in legal responsibility borne by the author;
2. No review fees are charged for this event;
3. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to the final interpretation of this activity.
