Jury Members of the 13th BJIFF Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit are Announced
Recently, the final-round jury members of the Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit at the 13th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) were announced. Meanwhile, the Samsung Mobile Short Film Forum was confirmed to be held on the morning of April 27 with the theme of “Splendor to be Discovered”, during which the panelists will discuss mobile short filmmaking by the 8 directors and innovation in mobile filming technology.
It’s known that all eight mobile short films are completed and submitted. Eight directors filmed their works with the Galaxy S23 models. All the works present bold filming creativity and cinematic image quality, making everyone extremely excited about them in the Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit.
They are now under final production and fine-tuning, and will be submitted to three jury members for review soon. A total of five awards will be determined. Jury members of the unit include:
Zhu Huilong
Founder and CEO of the More Joy Entertainment, consultant for the Busan International Film Festival, former founder and CEO of the Heyi Pictures, SVP at Youku
Peng Fei
Director and screenwriter from Chinese mainland. His works are known for light-hearted style with humor from daily life. His representative works include The Taste of Rice Flower and Tracing Her Shadow
Eric Lin
Current Director of Development at the Alibaba Pictures with 22 years of experience in film development and production. His screenplays include the Seoul Raiders, Operation Mekong and Operation Red Sea.
The 13th BJIFF, in collaboration with Samsung Galaxy S23 models, launches the Samsung Mobile Short Film Unit, where innovative technology is combined with filmmaking through the Samsung Galaxy S23 models. Young directors are able to showcase their talents and imagination at the international film platform of the BJIFF, and explore freer filmmaking aesthetics.
Portable devices bring together various fantasies, and pursue ultimate filmmaking through technological innovation. The 13th BJIFF Samsung Mobile Short Film Forum will be held on April 27, during which all the honors will be announced.
