More and more film and television talents are diving into the realm of micro dramas, infusing this compact and dynamic form of visual storytelling with vibrant energy.
In these micro dramas, audiences are not only treated to beautiful scenery and cultural landscapes with historical significance but they are also captivated by eye-catching local cuisines. Moreover, familiar brands are reintroduced in innovative ways, rejuvenating their image and vitality. Various cross-industry collaborations give micro dramas a golden touch, empowering all parties involved.
On the occasion of the 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), the festival has partnered with Qingmu Tianfeng Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to jointly launch the "Star Horizon Project". With the core goal of fostering a high-quality micro drama industry, the project brings together industry organizations, online audiovisual platforms, micro drama production companies, creators, and investment and promotion agencies. Through micro drama project pitches, a micro drama creation camp, a micro drama honor ceremony, and other activities, the project aims to establish a shared platform that promotes premium micro drama content creation and industry standardization in China.

We offer not only micro drama project pitches, giving your work the chance to secure funding and realize your creation dreams, but also a micro drama creation camp where you can share ideas and learn from top creators to hone your professional skills. There is also a micro drama honor ceremony, where your work can shine in the spotlight.
The "Star Horizon Project" is now open for submissions of outstanding works from across the nation. We welcome micro drama creators and production companies from all sectors to apply. The winning entries will be honored at the "Star Horizon Night" Micro Drama Ceremony in April 2025.

▍ Submission Guidelines:
1. Submission Requirements
Works that have been broadcast after January 1, 2022
Works that have completed the necessary online filing and registration procedures after January 1, 2022
2. Content Requirements
The content of the works must be positive and healthy. It must not include elements that promote negative values, violate public order and good customs, contain pornography or vulgarity, involve gangs or violent themes, glorify ugliness, or mislead minors. The content must not include low-quality remakes, parodies, or distortions of national heroes, historical figures, classic cultural works, or any other inappropriate content. The content must not violate any laws, regulations, or public order and good customs. The content must not infringe on third parties' legitimate rights and interests, such as plagiarism, borrowing ideas, or unauthorized use of others' work. The content must not include regional discrimination, attacks, or defamation of individuals or organizations. Titles must not use vulgar or offensive language that violates public order and good customs, and they must refrain from exaggerating extreme conflicts, revenge, violence, or anxiety. Titles should be concise and relevant to the plot, avoiding excessive length or overly colloquial language.
3. Format Requirements
Horizontal Screen: No limit on the number of episodes, with each episode lasting 5 - 20 minutes
Vertical Screen: No limit on the number of episodes, with each episode lasting 1 - 3 minutes
4. Copyright Requirements
The submitted content must be an original Chinese script with clear copyright ownership. The submitter must hold full intellectual property rights to the content or have obtained the necessary authorization. An originality declaration or copyright authorization document must be provided.
For the horizontal screen micro drama category, the following honors will be awarded:
Star Horizon Micro Drama, Star Horizon Director, Star Horizon Screenwriter, Star Horizon Producer, Star Horizon Actor, and Star Horizon Actress
For the vertical screen micro drama category, the following honors will be awarded:
Most Creative Micro Drama, Micro Drama with the Greatest Cultural Communication Value, Micro Drama with the Greatest Commercial Value, and Micro Drama with the Strongest Brand Communication Power
The "Star Horizon Project" will provide post-production budget subsidies to the honored creators for their subsequent works. The creators of the awarded works will be signed to the "Star Horizon Project" and participate in the commissioned creation of subsequent projects.
