In this context, the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) has established the Online Film Section. Organized by Hemei (Beijing) Culture Media Co., Ltd., the section is committed to becoming a vital force in fostering industry advancement and an important platform for the exchange and showcasing of online films.

Film submissions are open globally, inviting a wide range of online film works, including feature films, documentaries, animated films, and experimental films. The selected entries undergo a rigorous screening process, with a professional preliminary review team combining diverse perspectives from university experts, public judges, and online audience judges to select films with unique charm and potential. The evaluation process gathers an authoritative industry jury to comprehensively and fairly assess the competing films from various dimensions such as directorial innovation, acting depth, and script creativity. Multiple prestigious awards have been established to encourage online filmmakers to strive for excellence and drive continuous improvement in online film creation standards.
The Forum Series serves as the cornerstone initiative for fostering dialogue and collaboration within the online film industry. The Industry Development Forum invites industry leaders, experts, scholars, experienced professionals, and others to discuss the current state and future prospects of the online film market. It delves deeply into the industry's structure, analyzes the opportunities and challenges in its development, and proposes practical solutions for future growth paths. The Tech Forum focuses on the application cases of emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in online film production. It shares the latest technological achievements and practical experiences, aiming to propel technological advancements in online film production.
In addition, a Film and Television Production Base and Featured Scenic Spot Recommendation Event will be held, in keeping with the era's trend of integrating film &TV with tourism.
